Apollo Tyres to boost brand visibility in Spain with La Liga
Apollo Tyres Ltd has secured the opportunity to showcase its premium Vredestein tyre brand on pitch-side LED boards at La Liga, one of the world’s most prestigious football leagues, further boosting brand visibility and awareness in Spain.
The initiative will enhance the profile of Vredestein’s award-winning products among a vast audience in Spain, leveraging La Liga’s reputation as one of the most-watched football leagues in the world. The agreement, which runs through the remainder of the current 2024/25 season, will see Vredestein branding feature at 28 matches across multiple stadiums, beginning on 19 January during the Girona vs Sevilla game.
The initiative underscores Apollo Tyres’ commitment to the Spanish market, where the company is seeing growing demand for the expanding portfolio of Vredestein summer, all-season and winter tyres. The latest addition is the new Vredestein Ultrac+ premium summer tyre, which delivers dramatic improvements in longevity compared to the outgoing Ultrac while maintaining its predecessor’s segment-leading comfort and highly competitive wet and dry handling capabilities. Available in Spain from January 2025, the Ultrac+ will be offered in 70 different sizes, from 15 to 20 inches, making it ideally suited for a very wide selection of family and compact cars.
Yves Pouliquen, Vice President, Commercial, Europe at Apollo Tyres Ltd, commented: “Our involvement in La Liga reflects the importance of the Spanish passenger car tyre market to our European growth strategy and is a logical extension to our international sports activities. By aligning with one of the most iconic football leagues in the world, we will showcase our premium products to a passionate and highly engaged audience, both locally and internationally.”
The new agreement is part of Apollo Tyres’ ongoing strategy to engage in different categories of high profile, performance-focused sport. It builds on other Vredestein marketing initiatives in the world of football – including a sleeve sponsorship deal with AS Monaco in Ligue 1 and an ongoing partnership with Manchester United Football Club – as well as sponsorships of the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup and the Mille Miglia classic rally series.
