Awareness of the Vredestein brand gained a significant boost at this year’s FIS Alpine World Championships in Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Austria, with the event attracting over 100,000 spectators on-site and a 45 millionstrong television audience across Germany and Austria. Vredestein branding was featured prominently throughout the two-week event, including on screens alongside the course and at the finish line.

Apollo Tyres Ltd, which owns the Vredestein passenger car tyre brand, leveraged its Official Main Sponsor status to engage with thousands of ski fans and showcase the latest Vredestein premium winter tyre range. The company also created an immersive experience for over 120 VIP customers within a dedicated Vredestein ‘fan zone’. As part of a three-day hospitality programme, it provided a ‘Wheel of Fortune’ giveaway stand alongside a branded truck, while guests had the opportunity to meet former professional skiers Thomas Dreßen and Maria Höfl-Riesch during signing sessions.

As one of the most prestigious events in alpine skiing, this year’s championships attracted 250 women and 380 men competing from over 70 countries.

Harald Kilzer, Head of Cluster South-East Europe at Apollo Tyres Ltd, commented: “This year’s FIS Alpine World Championships have been a tremendous success, for competitors and brand affiliates alike. It’s been incredible to witness the world’s best athletes compete across multiple disciplines. High-performance sports events like this align perfectly with our brand and products – most notably our range of premium winter tyres which have been engineered to deliver outstanding performance on the snow and ice.”

The Vredestein brand continues to expand its sports sponsorship portfolio, recently confirming support for Netherlands-based professional cycling team BEAT Cycling, as well as serving as the official sleeve sponsor of AS Monaco, partnering with Spain’s La Liga, and maintaining an ongoing collaboration with Manchester United.
