Wintrac Pro takes podium in Auto Bild Sportscars winter tyre test

The German auto magazine Auto Bild Sportscars recently carried out its annual winter tyre test, and designated the Vredestein Wintrac Pro as one of the best among the models evaluated. Apollo Vredestein’s ultra-high-performance tyre was one of two to receive the prestigious vorbildlich (‘exemplary’) label.

Auto Bild Sportscar put 10 tyres in size 255/35 R19 through their paces in its test, which consisted of 14 trials in the categories ‘snow’, ‘wet’ and ‘dry’. The Wintrac Pro did especially well in handling and circuit speed on wet surfaces as well as aquaplaning. The Auto Bild Sportscar experts were impressed with its “outstanding performance on snowy and wet roads, good safety reserves during aquaplaning, precise steering, short braking on wet surfaces and stable dry handling.” Overall, they found the Wintrac Pro to have “a balanced performance at the highest level.”

Published in the November issue of Auto Bild Sportscar, the results follow a series of recognitions enjoyed by the Wintrac Pro in the German car press this autumn. The tyre was already among the top six out of 53 models in sister magazine Auto Bild’s winter tyre test and received the bronze in comparable reviews carried out by Auto Motor Sport and Autozeitung.
