A team of 50 Apollo Tyres employees will be participating in the highly popular ‘Les 20 km de Paris’ mass-participation run next month to celebrate the event’s continued association with the Vredestein brand.

Apollo Tyres, which owns the Vredestein premium tyre brand, signed a four-year title sponsorship deal for the event in 2022. The ongoing partnership is part of the company’s wider focus on driving brand recognition through major sporting events around the world, including football, motor racing and winter sports.

This year will be the 45th edition of Les 20 km de Paris, which will once again take place in the heart of the French capital, welcoming over 25,000 participants to the start line under the Eiffel Tower. During the race, runners will pass many of the city’s most iconic points of interest, including the Pont d’Iéna bridge and Bois de Boulogne public park, before passing the finish line under the Tower.

As part of its initiative to promote a healthy lifestyle and teamwork, Apollo Tyres is actively supporting the 50-strong group of employees from around the world to take part in the race; many will be accompanied by a guest. Apollo Tyres is also taking a support crew to the event and supporting participation by French media.

Benoit Rivallant, President and CEO of Apollo Tyres Europe said: “Les 20km de Paris is one of the most scenic and inclusive races in the world, welcoming beginners and top-level athletes alike. Running is the most accessible way to maintain a healthy lifestyle, yet it also requires focus, patience and determination. I look forward to participating with my colleagues, representing the Vredestein brand’s philosophy and tagline: ‘go the distance’.”

Vredestein has a rich European history spanning over 115 years. As well as developing tyres for high-performance cars and family cars, the brand pioneered the all-season tyres segment in the early 1990s and – now part of the Apollo Tyres family of brands – has remained at the forefront of the market by featuring on the sidewall of Europe’s first all-season tyre dedicated to the electric vehicle market.
